This module is designed to give you a strong foundation in theories and practices of leadership and management. ÌýThe module will familiarise you with various debates and theories as well as practices in leadership and management. ÌýYou will be stretched to reflect critically on the theory and practices of management and leadership from an ethical and healthcare perspective. ÌýThe module also picks out management topics that are particularly relevant to you as a student in the healthcare sector, including debates around the integration of health systems, quality improvement and patient safety. Ìý
You will gain knowledge about horizon scanning, planning and designing management systems, operationalising strategy, managing a team, resolving conflicts, leading transformation, integrating systems and, most importantly, identifying and honing your leadership style. ÌýAll of these topics and skills will be focused on improving your collaborations and engagements with others to help ensure that you and your organisation can meet the challenges and opportunities that come with the evolving health landscape.
