Description
This module critically examines existing future pathways and visions, and it discusses key concepts for future strategies, in order to identify viable resource futures. It seeks to analyse the bigger picture and to project ambitious pathways involving radical changes, albeit breaking them down into manageable milestones. The basis of the module is to learn how to be able to account for critical aspects for a truly sustainable future, without discounting aspects that are difficult or inconvenient to take on board when designing scenarios for the future. In this regard, green growth, the circular economy, the resource nexus, degrowth, biophysical aspects of modelling, etc. will all form part of the discussion.
Including the following contents but not limited to
- Roadmaps and scenarios from a business perspective
- Indicators for future planning
- Future scenarios’ development and examples
- Green growth and circular economy – conceptual and resource realities
- Introduction to degrowth and other alternative perspectives/concepts
- The Global South and decolonisation of the modern mind
