Configuring MEDIALecture on a PC

In this section you can make several configuration changes to affect the way that the MEDIALecture application behaves and will work for you.

To configure the application, click onÌýSettings.

Local Media Files Storage

This is the path to where the recordings will be saved. If you wish to change this, click onÌýµþ°ù´Ç·É²õ±ðÌýand select an alternative destination.

Select a Webcam

If you have more than one webcam connected to your PC, then youÌýcan make a choice fromÌýthe drop-down list. If you only have the computersÌýbuilt-in webcam this will be displayed as the default device.ÌýHere you can also chooseÌýthe quality ofÌývideo capture you require. We recommend using 720pÌýif your webcam is capable.Ìý

Please noteÌýthat clicking More will expose additionalÌýquality options, however it is not recommended to use these due to the way the encoding process has been optimised for compatibility inÌýMEDIALecture and Mediacentral.

Capture Settings

The Mediacentral team recommend that for the best quality you should chooseÌý1080p as this gives you the best quality screenÌýrecording, this is especially important if you are capturing a PowerPoint (or similar) presentation. Please note that using theÌýLow Capture ModeÌýsetting is not recommended.

Select a Microphone

If you have a microphone attached to your computer thenÌýyou can use the drop-down listÌýto select the audio input device you would like to use, if no external device is available thenÌýMEDIALecture willÌýuse your computer'sÌýbuilt-in device for voice input.

This option is recommended if you have limited disk space on your computer,Ìýby checkingÌýthe box yourÌýrecordings saved toÌýyour computer will be deleted only after they have been uploaded to Mediacentral.

Once all the desired changesÌýhave been made click onÌý³§´¡³Õ·¡Ìýto commit them.
