The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed structural defects in how markets promote welfare and how governments build resilient economies. Philanthropic capital often tries to help fill some of the gaps, re-establishing scrutiny whether the current role of philanthropy in society itself points to a structural defect. This conversation explores who is financing what, and why it matters – from philanthropies to government to business.
When does philanthropic capital entrench inequalities and build value extractive practices? When can philanthropic capital enable visionary activities? How can rethinking the ownership and application of philanthropic capital and motivations help reward and foster collective value creation? ÌýÌý
